ARTIST STATEMENT

Through my work, I curate the visceral, the archaic degeneration for an eventual renewal. Collecting visuals feeds my hunger for creative discovery and challenges my vision of the world. I chose collages as a medium because of my love of deconstructing. There’s something so appealing about reassembling broken pieces into a new sense of unity. Mixing and rearranging the senses is understanding the world from a new perspective. To take ownership and rethink it. Not to expect everything to make sense blindly, passively, but to provoke it with every thought, at every turn.

I rarely come home without pictures or videos, consciously observing and capturing my surroundings, whether it’s people watching or hunting for architectural details throughout the city. I've been exploring gothic, eerie and highly contrasted aesthetics through a surrealistic lens. Since writing sits at the core of my portfolio, in English or French, my native language, I began to link existing poems with new visuals I created. Some of my collages also inspired new poems.

my art and poetry invite to contemplate, and explore the concepts of ego and how to navigate it, through online simulation or self-questioning in real-life interactions.
